Matilda Cottage Macedon Ranges quiet rural retreat

From arrival, this stay offered a rare sense of serenity, with roos, bunnies, and native birds providing a daily dose of nature just outside the window. City noises and car traffic felt a world away.The property itself was exceptionally neat and well presented. Every detail had been considered, from the spotless living spaces to the inviting bedrooms. What truly stood out was the kitchen—stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots, and pans in ample supply, it was almost like a home away from home. BBQ, big verandah, nice outdoor space - It truly is a peaceful haven—perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle and soaking up the beauty of the Australian countryside.Communication with the property manager was excellent throughout my stay. Every enquiry was met with a prompt and friendly response, making the whole experience seamless from booking to check-out. It’s clear there’s genuine care for guests here, which only added to the overall comfort.

Lovely property with everything we needed for a three night stay.

Enjoyed our stay, easy check in process, host was easy to communicate with and replied to messages promptly, the accommodation it self was clean, had everything we needed. Would recommend staying at this property.One minor issue was the automation of the front gate was not working so had to get out And manually open gate every time, wasn’t a big deal just more annoying.

External of cottage full of cobwebs, needs some love. Windows dirty. Pots and pan with burnt residue, should be cleaned or replaced. Towel rail and toilet roll holder loose on walls. basin drain partially blocked. A damaged tip of knife and black handle of prep knife heat damaged, should have been replaced. Netflix not available first night, guest overwritten by others personal setup, should have been checked. Thanks to Chris for sorting. Dog door should be replaced. Fly screen door latch nonexistent. Should be a fly screen on the other sliding door at the lounge. Entry key combination lock box temperamental. Was concerned with owners on property 2 Alsatians been able to come up to cottage fence, felt they could jump the fence if my dog was in enclosed area. Not happy. Inside cottage was very clean, bed comfortable, pillows sheets and towels crisp & clean. Crockery, glasses & utensils very clean.
